CHHA-NL AGM Awards - Call for Nominations.
The Canadian Hard of Hearing Association - NL will be presenting three (3) awards at its Annual General Meeting on September 21, 2011.
CHHA-NL Community Advocacy Award: Presented to individuals, service groups, community agencies, businesses, or government (agencies or departments) that have voluntarily made a contribution to the hard of hearing community in the area of Advocacy for Hearing Loss Rights on behalf of hard of hearing persons, either as direct service to a hard of hearing person, a group, or to the CHHA-NL. This award will give recognition for efforts that overcame barriers to the rights of hard of hearing persons. One award will be given annually. Nominees receive a Certification of Nomination to recognize their efforts to improve the quality of life of all hard of hearing persons in Newfoundland and Labrador.
CHHA-NL Community Accessibility Award : Presented to individuals, service groups, community agencies, businesses, or government (agencies or departments) that have voluntarily made a contribution to the hard of hearing community in the area of Accessibility to Public Facilities on behalf of hard of hearing persons, either as direct service to a hard of hearing person, a group, or to the CHHA-NL. This award will give recognition for efforts that make public or private facilities hearing accessible to hard of hearing persons through the use of assistive listening and signalling technology. One award will be given annually. Nominees receive a Certification of Nomination to recognize their efforts to improve the quality of life of all hard of hearing persons in Newfoundland and Labrador.
CHHA-NL Community Awareness Award: Presented to individuals, service groups, community agencies, businesses, or government (agencies or departments) that have voluntarily made a contribution to the hard of hearing community in the area of Awareness of Hearing Loss Issues on behalf of hard of hearing persons, either as direct service to a hard of hearing person, a group, or to the CHHA-NL. This award will give recognition for efforts that helped to educate the public or others, that prevents or minimizes the effects of hearing loss. One award will be given annually. Nominees will receive a Certification of Nomination to recognize their efforts to improve the quality of life of all hard of hearing persons in Newfoundland and Labrador.
