University Supports
The Glenn Roy Blundon Centre is a division of Memorial University
Counselling Centre (or Student Affairs and Services). The mission of the Blundon
Centre is to provide programs and services that enable students with
disabilities to take their educational potentials to the full extent and to
increase awareness of inclusive values among all members of the university
community.
Services for students with disabilities are provided within an integrated student affairs and services model, including:
· Campus orientation and in-take interview
· Academic accommodations for tests and exams, including the math placement test, bridging program, and distance education courses
· Sign language interpretation
· Note-taking assistance
· Assistance accessing funding sources
· Liaison to university and community services
· Disability awareness activities for faculty, staff, and students
· Access to parking accommodations
· Access to TTY’s and telephones with amplification
· Adaptive technology
· Academic skills workshops, learning strategies, as well as individual and group career counselling is available at the University Counselling Centre.
· Psycho-educational assessments for learning disabilities, attention difficulties, and anxiety are available at the University Counselling Centre on a fee-for-service basis.
