CHHA Happy Valley-Goose Bay (CHHA-HVGB)

Meet our Branch

The Happy Valley- Goose Bay Branch of the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association was formed on April 25, 2007. The executive members are:

President: Cyril Peach

Vice-President: David Massie

Secretary: Kathleen Cabot

Treasurer: Fred Loxton

Before the formation of CHHA-HVGB, the Listening for Labrador Group worked towards the needs of hard of hearing people in the community.  They were responsible for having the Arcturus Theatre install a sound field system to enable wearers of hearing aids to hear better.  They also got the town to erect signs in appropriate areas of town alerting drivers to reduce speed because of Hard of Hearing Children in the neighbourhood.   In March 2006 they started a lobby to have audiology equipment and a full-time audiologist located in the local hospital.  This issue is still ongoing and the branch has lent its support to this worthy cause.
