Location
Our offices are located in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada in the Viking Building, Suite 103, 136 Crosbie Road. We moved to this more centralized location in May, 2002 to expand our services, to be more visible in the community and to have a more physically accessible location that provided suitable and free parking for our members, clients and visitors.
We are pleased to offer a fully accessible service to meet the needs of persons with disabilities. Besides parking, we also offer ground floor access with a ramp and automatic (push button) door access. Our washrooms are oversized for easier wheelchair or assisted walking access. There are visible (strobe lights) and audible alerting systems for the office entrance, telephone and fire alarm systems.
In addition, we are pleased to offer two hearing accessible rooms for group meetings. Both rooms are equipped with audio-visual systems for meetings. One room is board room style that comfortably seats 14 persons at a conference style table. To facilitate communication, a microphone is shared between two adjacent seats. Each microphone comes equipped with a min-speaker and are connected to an Infra-Red (IR) listening system for hard of hearing users. This systems permits a hard of hearing person to sit anywhere in the room and to use an IR receiver to hear the speakers voice. The second and larger room comfortably seats 50 persons theatre style or, with the use of tables, can be configured for smaller group sized.
While these rooms are primarily intended for the use of members and the delivery of programs and services, they are available for rentals by outside groups in the public and private sector. Room rates vary, so if you interested in a rental, click on the Contact Us button below to receive additional information. Tea, Coffee and Juices are provided for a fee. We do not provide food, however, groups who rent are welcome to make their own arrangements (subject to our approval).
